Review: Billboard’s Women in Music Awards

On March 6, 2024, the 15th annual Billboard’s Women in Music Awards took place, celebrating the outstanding achievements of women in the music industry. The event honored remarkable artists with various awards, creating an atmosphere filled with energy and excitement from the moment attendees entered the room.

Among the distinguished honorees were PinkPanthress, Ice Spice, Victoria Monét, CHARLI XCX, Marren Morris, Young Miko, TEMS, Luísa Sonza, Kylie Minogue, Michelle Jubelirer, Sarah Geronimo, and Annalisa. Kylie Minogue, upon receiving the Icon Award, expressed her joy at being part of such a vibrant gathering, remarking, "I just love being in this room."

Karol G was awarded the prestigious "Woman of the Year" title and delivered a moving speech recounting her journey as a woman in the music industry, highlighting moments of struggle sharing the challenges that come with navigating the industry as a woman.

The evening commenced with celebrities walking the red carpet before gathering in the YouTube Theater lobby for the pre-party, where appetizers and a bar were available for guests. As the clock struck 7:00, the doors opened to reveal tables for artists and invited guests, along with rows of seats for fans who purchased tickets. Attendees seated at the tables were treated to a delicious dinner as they enjoyed the show. Some artists who won an award performed while others expressed their gratitude. It has always been extremely tough for women in the music industry but Billboard’s Women In Music Awards gives recognition to this.

Overall, this year's awards ceremony was a total success; here’s to seeing what’s in store for next year.
